Programme Management

Watts PM approach programme management in an ordered, logical and collaborative manner to drive towards a successful outcome for all.

We believe the brief is paramount to projects and programmes of projects and should form the basis of what should be delivered. The brief sets the objectives and defines the Clients success criteria. Watts will safeguard the Client’s interests based on the brief.

We use a simple unambiguous process that allows the Client to understand what they will get from the Programme Manager and allow our team to know what is expected from them. We will follow the process to really get to know the Client and their objectives, know the team and stakeholders, provide a structured process to plan, deliver and solve issues. We will then manage all facets of the programme to deliver the Clients programme objectives.

Communication is key to projects and programmes, for both we want to interface with the Client and team members during typical project/ programme stages in a structured and consistent manner to facilitate clear lines of communication and an approach that engenders trust and confidence.

We will then manage the programme to deliver each facet from decant, enabling and infrastructure, through the high level deliverables such as design, procurement and construction and onwards through decant, transition and move management to final operation/ in use for each project within the programme. Stage and interim cost planning/ budgeting/ transferrals and expenditure will be provided monthly to monitor status against brief, budget, programme, interface and impact analysis.

Watts PM will monitor and seek regular status reports from all project teams to monitor progress and mitigate potential programme delay. We will manage the programme delivery and impact analysis as the single source of instructions to each lead PM.

Our service includes drawing up and promoting policies and standards to deliver the objectives of the project brief. Particular tasks include:

  • Establishing procurement and potential partnering objectives, via a series of workshops
  • Implementing and delivering any partnering strategies
  • Full participation in a cost reduction and value added strategy
  • Establishing, promulgating and monitoring a risk and value management regime
  • Setting and monitoring Key Performance Indicators

We believe improvements to project success can be proven in key aspects of our approach to create and benefit from:

  • Trust and respect
  • Commitment to mutual objectives
  • Cooperation through teamwork
  • Interdependence
  • Communication
  • Risk and value identification and management
  • Continuous quality improvement
  • Joint problem solving
